We Stand as One (2017) 4.0’
“We Stand as One” sets forth the resonant themes of faith and reformation. Dave Baldwin’s lyric, taking its cue from Martin Luther’s famous “Here I stand” declaration, enlarges it to “here we stand” and “we stand as one,” which are reflected in the resounding declarations of the music.
The anthem’s syncopated rhythms and simple repeated themes make it easy to learn and enjoyable to sing. Although the piece is well-suited for performance by a large “festival” choir, it also works well with a smaller group.
