The anonymous 17^th century English poem I used for this piece describes the unstoppable persistence of true love. The persistence is reflected in the driving tempo of the music, the slow rise in the vocal range, and the repeated title phrase, . “Over the mountains and over the waves, under the fountains and under the graves… Love will find out the way.”
