Lo, the Child Is Born (2020, 2003) 5.0’

“Lo! The Child Is Born” is a festive choral/brass Christmas piece with a twist: a rather somber and dramatic middle section that emphasizes how the “blessed child” came not for the rich and powerful, but rather to lift up and comfort the lowly and downtrodden. This, I think, is the true meaning of “Immanuel – God with us.”

The piece requires two percussionists – one playing snare drum, the other playing crash cymbals, triangle, and two pairs of differently-pitched finger cymbals.

SATB, brass quintet, percussion

A festive Christmas anthem.
